WHAT TO DO:
At the Memorial
Visit the Lincoln Borglum Museum. Loaded with artifacts,
displays and photographs, you'll learn about the making of America's
most famous mountain carving. Hike the Presidential Trail, which
meanders to the base of the mountain. Attend the patriotic Lighting
Ceremony, which takes place nightly throughout the summer.
Just Minutes Away
Top Black Hills draws such as Badlands National Park, Crazy Horse
Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument,
and Custer State Park - with its herd of 1,500 bison - are located
close by. Most are within an hour's drive of the memorial.
